Parents: Donna (45) and Mitchell (50) Rush. She’s a florist and he is a mechanic Siblings: none Pets: none History: Having a baby might have been something Donna and Mitch wanted, but they were never really sure how to handle it. Babies are expensive, and they each had their own businesses. That doesn’t exactly bring in a whole lot of money. Maddie has been helping with the family businesses for as long as she’s been old enough. She knows everything there is to know about flowers, but she also knows a lot about cars. She’s not your typical girl. She really does like to be appreciated and treated in a feminine manner, but she is also perfectly able to fend for herself.
She spend her entire life in Montana and lived in the same house from the time she was born until after she turned eighteen. Like every small town girl, she found herself head over heels for what was pretty much the boy nextdoor. She was pretty sure that Adam never actually noticed her. Being a year younger than him made a big difference in school. Sure, she was smart, and they even had some of the same classes. The thing is, Maddie was never in the popular crowd, and groups just don’t blend all that well in high school.
Just after graduation, she got up the nerve to talk to Adam. He was dating a cheerleader at the time, but Maddie was trying to convince herself that there was a part of him that wanted her. She was determined to get him to at least acknowledge the way she felt about him. On her way over to talk to him, though, she met his girlfriend at the time. Maddie never really understood what was happening. One moment, the girl was being snotty to her, and the next, she was writhing on the ground. When the ambulance came, all Maddie could tell for sure was that she’d done something. Whatever had happened was her fault, and it wasn’t natural or normal.
She’d heard about mutants before, and the more she thought about it, the more it made sense to think that maybe she was one of them. Everything she’d ever heard about mutants was terrifying, though, and she was pretty much terrified of being recognized for what she was. Worse, she was sure that Adam would never talk to her again, and that would be even worse than being nothing but the girl he considered one of the guys. So, she packed a bag in the middle of the night and set out to see what she could find.
A few days later, she made it to South Dakota. It seemed like a decent place, so she settled down. Besides, she managed to find a town where she wasn’t so alone in her weirdness. She’s trying hard to forget what she left behind, but it certainly isn’t easy.
I know things are looking up but soon they'll take us down BEFORE ANYBODY'S KNOWING OUR NAME.
